Does the tegular edge affect acoustics?
Negligibly — the exposed edge adds slight edge scattering.
Can it hold insulation above?
Yes — it is commonly combined with plenum insulation.
Scratch resistance?
The sealed felt facing is durable; replace individual tiles if damaged — that is the point of a grid ceiling.
