Description

Polyester Fiber Acoustic Baffle

Vertical baffles hang in the volume of the room, absorbing sound on both faces while leaving the ceiling plane visually open. Above a certain room height they outperform flat ceiling panels of the same area, because sound meets them twice.

Sound absorption coefficient

Measured to ISO 354 in a reverberation room, 100% polyester fibre, type A mounting.

Frequency (Hz) 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000
9 mm 0.13 0.63 0.83 0.95 0.75 0.69
12 mm 0.31 0.55 0.79 0.91 0.66 0.61

Peak absorption sits between 500 Hz and 1 kHz — the range that governs speech
intelligibility in offices, classrooms and open-plan spaces.

Compatibility

  • Designed for 12 mm, 24 mm and 30 mm exposed tee grid systems.
  • Grid size must be specified before ordering.
  • Hangers suit 1.5 mm wire rope.
  • Can be cut on site to clear lighting and fixtures.

Options

  • Thickness 12–30 mm.
  • Any design may be engraved or cut to your artwork.
  • Sheet size up to 1220 × 2440 mm.

Material story

Panels are needle-punched from recycled PET bottle flake — a purely physical process with no
water discharge, no emissions, no waste and no adhesive. The porous structure makes the panel both
sound-absorptive and thermally insulative, and the finished panel is fully recyclable.

Frequently asked

How are baffles suspended?
From a 12, 24 or 30 mm grid, or from site-fabricated rails. Connection brackets are supplied with each baffle.

What spacing do you recommend?
For speech-critical rooms, roughly half the baffle depth. Send us the room dimensions and we will model the layout for you.

Can baffles be cut into shapes?
Yes — baffles can be CNC cut to any pattern, including lettering and logos.
