Description

Polyester Fiber Acoustic Ceiling Panel

Ceilings are the largest uninterrupted acoustic surface in most rooms, and treating them is the fastest route to cutting reverberation. These panels are designed to work with standard 12 mm, 24 mm and 30 mm exposed tee grid systems, so they drop into a conventional ceiling without special detailing.

Material specifications

Sound absorption coefficient

Measured to ISO 354 in a reverberation room, 100% polyester fibre, type A mounting.

Frequency (Hz) 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000
9 mm 0.13 0.63 0.83 0.95 0.75 0.69
12 mm 0.31 0.55 0.79 0.91 0.66 0.61

Peak absorption sits between 500 Hz and 1 kHz — the range that governs speech
intelligibility in offices, classrooms and open-plan spaces.

Compatibility

  • Suits 12 mm, 24 mm and 30 mm exposed tee grid systems.
  • Grid size must be specified before ordering.
  • Can be cut on site to clear new or existing lighting and fixtures.

Installation

  • Lay-in to an exposed tee grid, or direct-fix to a solid soffit.
  • When cutting on site, use a fresh blade for each cut and keep the panel fully supported.

Material story

Panels are needle-punched from recycled PET bottle flake — a purely physical process with no
water discharge, no emissions, no waste and no adhesive. The porous structure makes the panel both
sound-absorptive and thermally insulative, and the finished panel is fully recyclable.

Frequently asked

Does it fit a standard exposed grid?
Yes. Panels are supplied sized for 12, 24 and 30 mm exposed grid with a lay-in plain edge.

What does it weigh?
Approximately 1.85 kg/m² at 9 mm, so existing ceiling loads are rarely affected. Confirm against your structural allowance.

Are fixings included?
Lay-in panels need none. A screw-fixed version and a suspended ceiling-cloud version are also available.
