Documentation That Survives a Specification Review

Fire classification, chain of custody, formaldehyde and acoustic test data — issued by third-party laboratories (SGS, TÜV, RINA) and supplied with the quotation, not chased afterwards.

Chain of Custody

FSC® Certified in Our Own Name

Our FSC® chain-of-custody certificate is held by Shanghai MST Industrial Co., Ltd. and audited by RINA. It covers the purchase, processing and sale of FSC®-certified MDF — the core of every wood slat panel we ship.

Buyers running LEED or BREEAM credits can treat the panels as responsibly sourced timber without commissioning their own audit.

Reaction to Fire

Classified to European and North American Standards

Fire performance is the first gate on almost every commercial project. Both classifications below are held on the polyester fibre and wood slat build-ups we sell; reports are issued by SGS and TÜV.

B-s1,d0EN 13501-1:2018
  • B — the reaction-to-fire classification
  • s1 — only limited smoke production
  • d0 — no flaming droplets fall from the panel

Together this is the combination most European specifiers ask for on interior wall and ceiling finishes. Samples tested at 9 mm and 12 mm · reports AJFS2107005914FF / AJFS2107005915FF (SGS) and TÜV-EN 13501.

Class BASTM E84 / UL 723

The North American standard for surface burning characteristics of interior wall and ceiling finishes, reported as a flame spread index and a smoke developed index. Class B is accepted for most commercial interiors.

Sample: wood slat panel · SGS report covering flame spread and smoke developed indices.

Indoor Air & Acoustics

The Other Two Numbers Specifiers Ask For

E1Formaldehyde Emission

Wood-based panels are tested for formaldehyde emission and supplied at E1 class or better, measured to GB 18580 and EN 717-1. Reports cover the MDF cores used in the wood slat range.

100 Hz – 5 kHzSound Absorption, ISO 354

Absorption coefficients are measured in a reverberation room to ISO 354 and reported frequency by frequency — not as a single average. Every product page carries the measured curve so it can go straight into a room model.

A Note on Test Reports — Whose Name Is on the Report

Fire, formaldehyde and acoustic testing is carried out on the production lines that make our panels. Some reports are addressed to our manufacturing partners rather than to MST directly, and we say so rather than blur it:

  • EN 13501-1 and ASTM E84 reports are issued to the panel producer named on each certificate.
  • Formaldehyde emission results are issued to the MDF supplier.
  • The FSC® chain-of-custody certificate is held by Shanghai MST Industrial Co., Ltd.

When you send us a build-up, we confirm in writing which report covers the exact construction you are buying, and we can arrange re-testing in your own company’s name if your project requires it.

Ask for the Documents Before You Ask for the Price

Send us the project location and the build-up you are specifying. We will return the fire classification, formaldehyde result and absorption curve that apply, plus the material certificates for the exact panel.
